Deep Waters

Legend Galleries invite you to take a leap of faith into Deep Waters, created by artist couple Robert Roesch and Suzanne R. Horvitz. Robert’s tall and imposing metallic structures, complete with blue lights and miniature sailboats, captures the delicate balance that exists in a natural seafaring environment. The representation of the sun, wind, and water demonstrates his command over the elements in his creations; a monument to mankind’s innate desire to travel and explore the expanse of the ocean. In addition to his spires, Robert also presents his 3D printed models of plans for future projects, a prophetic glimpse for what’s yet to come.

Suzanne’s interests in Greek mythology can be seen in her collected works of mirror paintings and glass artwork. The material properties of glass enables her to control water in a way that Robert’s spires enable him to command the elements. Her series of free standing, two-sided panels convey a dual sense of beauty and subtle danger that lurks in the hidden deep of the ocean. Poetry and images are woven together to create a fantastical image that resonates to the part of the soul that is attached to the sea.

Deep Waters and its many artifacts runs from now until the 14th of June.
